Where Has The Time Gone

by LanceHill

Where has the time gone baby girl?
It seems like yesterday.
You were walking along this fence,
And I would watch you play.

Your hair pulled in a ponytail,
Your flowered dress brand new.
And as you walked away from me,
I knew our days were few.

I turned around and now you're grown
I'm proud as I can be.
The woman you have grown into,
Is full of love you see.

Although you may have stumbled some,
You've owned the path you've trod.
A servant's heart I see in you,
Filled with the love of God.

Where has the time gone baby girl?
Just know I'm always here.
And when my time to leave has come,
You'll know I'm always near.
