A two syllables per line challenge

A chapter in the book Christine's Poems

Two Times

by Chrissy710

It seems
not hard
but one
must try
to find
great words
that sound
just right
when read
aloud,
must flow
real smooth
does not
need rhyme
free verse
allowed,
so here
this is
my first
attempt,
so thank
you for
your time
to read

Looks easy...but is it? writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem in Iambic Monometer. That's TWO SYLLABLES per line. Your poem must have at least TWELVE LINES. Keep it clean.

Example:

Breath

If breath
is all
I'm left,
if life
has lost
it's zest,
if there's
no hill
to climb,
no dreams
to dream,
just time
that looms
in front
of me,
no verve
and no
esprit,
then please
bestill
my breath,
that I
might meet
sweet death.
