It's Crazy

I knew a woman who was thirty-eight.
She wanted kids but couldn't find a mate,
And then she met a guy.
Oh, what a crazy world. . .

They were married in the month of June,
And truth be told, it was none too soon.
He died of cancer that year.
Oh, what a crazy world. . .

I knew a woman who was forty-three.
She wanted babies so she had herself three.
She took clomiphene.
Oh, what a crazy world. . .

Her babies' names are Ashley, Karen, and Sue.
And when they grow up they'll need Clomid too,
'Cause they're infertile like her.
Oh, what a crazy world. . .

I knew a woman who was forty-one.
She wanted children and adopted them.
And they live happily,
In this crazy world. . .

When I did my obstetrics-gynecology rotation, I did a short rotation with an infertility specialist. I met so many women who were struggling with wanting kids that they could not have, for various reasons. Names and ages have been changed for HIPAA reasons, and also to make things rhyme. Thank you to suenethery for letting us use her pictures.
