resentments
A Prayer for You and Me
Candles flicker in stained glass windows
Bouncing shadows on a marbled floor
Crystal glass and mahogany wood
Dress the voyeur of an ancient church,
Towering Cross stretched to the heavens
Polished in glowing Purple Heart wood,
I kneel on a red velvet cushion
Eyes bowed, hands clasped in blessed silence
“I pray you have peace, joy, happiness,
Prosperity, good will and good health
I pray you know Jesus Christ
Filling you with the Holy Spirit
I hope light consumes and darkness fades
I pray God fills your life with love
May God grant you wisdom and courage
To overcome life’s difficulties
May God protect you and surround you
With angels of love and compassion
I pray these things in Jesus Christ Name”
I lift my eyes and extend my arms
With teary eyes and a heavy heart
I beg You God on this very day
Free my mind from this deadly burden
Oh Lord, hear this prayer I bring to you
“I pray to You in Jesus Christ Name
Remove from me this deep resentment
Take it from me, fill my heart with love
Thank you Holy Heavenly Father “
I rise to leave yet another day
Anger and frustration slowly fades
All the many days I’ve prayed for you
Bring peace and serenity to me
Forgiveness and acceptance of all,
My resentments seem to melt away,
No longer separated from God
I find that I truly care for you
