look upon the children, grandchildren and greats
as bridges to our future, openers of gates,
tiny seeds that need us to nourish and to love,
please shine Your light upon them from Heaven above;

as we pass on to our never-ending story
give thanks and approach our God blessed glory,
we relinquish the torch to our children, our hope
wishing them well, beware the slippery slope;

from above we'll encourage actions of great deeds
to cure a hurting hungry world's many needs,
teach your children about compassion and love
fill their hearts and minds with free spirit of a dove;

prompt them to use that compassion to cease all wars
bring peace to all nations, open wide all the doors,
equality needed for all on this earth
fix the injustice, renew world back to its worth;

children represent all that we are not
and all that they can be,
