Times of Being Alone

A chapter in the book Act of Endurance

Mary Christine

by TPAC

Mary Christine, does tasks, clear, cuts growth from home, strong, periods at labors, long, retained to a wrong, cry; it's for her lost lover: sad song.

She dress, completely black, roll, cut grass a mower, stroll eyes, see others as a faceless doll, blurs, unroll listed acts to do; no guests: alone.

The dawn ray, starts day, out home safety breaking, crosses tasks, said to, not a hey, Mary may, in time do, laid plan way; to move: all lawn's items.

She, as a statue, silent, like a clock, joins hands in this lock, viewed to mock a rock, it's not a vision of another; nod her: seen is black stone.

Hours do labors, endure hot sun, tend yard, dark to bend, vanished, end day, to quit efforts, returning safe in home, do this; a daily trend: secured inside a fort.

Later, alone, sit upstairs, battering herself, with words recall tears, had a hater, cater to it, from eyes drip water; by window seated in darkness: this up stare.

An actress, to unfold, in a played role, tell of old love absence, show white, hers' life, too, black told of, did performance; refuse gold heart loss: awaiting loved back return.

Days came, and passed, cut years, into maid memory, angers Mary, blame she drags, a shame, midnight to rise of every dawn, in a frame; rocking: it's a widow.
