Traditional Cinquain/topic: OCEANS writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Compose a traditional cinquain

No MUSIC or VIDEOS/NO OTHER RULE OTHER THAN POEM MUST BE IN THE TRADITIONAL FORM

the following info is from FanStory about this format:

Cinquain Poem
A cinquain is written using a pattern. This type of poem only has five lines. Each line follows a specific pattern.

The traditional cinquain, as developed by Adelaide Crapsey, has five lines and a strict structure based on syllable count.
Line 1: Two syllables
Line 2: Four syllables
Line 3: Six syllables
Line 4: Eight syllables
Line 5: Two syllables

Example of Traditional Cinquain:

November Night

Listen . . .
With faint dry sound,
Like steps of passing ghosts,
The leaves, frost-crisp'd, break from the trees
And fall.
(may show more than 5 lines but that is a formatting issue--POEM MUST HAVE 5 LINES)

American poet Adelaide Crapsey created the cinquain[sing-KANE]-based on the Japanese haiku- around the turn of the century
