The road to sleep is paved with best intentions.
One of these nights. ( 169 words)

One of these nights, I am going to walk by this damned computer and resist the magnetic force field that attacks me on my way to bed; sucking me, like the pull of a plunger, back into my ego to check the ratings on my last post; or to see who's beating me by one point in yet another contest. I knew I should have voted for myself.
One of these nights I am going to eliminate caffeine, CNN, and FanStory from my life so Burnout won't be igniting my fuse at 6:a.m. But then what the hell am I going to do? Not cut out for living at the foot of the cross. At my age, some of the old vices are either no longer attainable, or would probably kill me.
11:p.m. Still early.
Midnight. Not sleepy yet
2: a.m. What happened to 1:00?
Only two prompts a day. Oh good. It's Thursday already, I can submit one now.
One of these nights.
Just not tonight.
