Is Your Life like Mine?
by lancellot
“I hate my life.” Bright light streamed across my eyelids evaporating my redheaded dream girl. Reluctantly, I looked at the clock. Its flashing 12:00 mocked me.
“The power went out last night, and now you’re late. Ha…ha. Good luck finding a new job, loser.”
I grabbed my phone, and saw that it was after ten. I cursed myself for drinking last night, and then, I caught the sweet scent of bacon and coffee.
“Stupid newlywed neighbors must be having a late breakfast.” I was giving them the finger, when I heard a drawer slam.
My heart skipped, and I jumped out of bed. A wave of dizziness hit me like a rock. Another noise cut through my hangover. I slowly crept towards the kitchen and opened the door.
“Morning, lover,” she said wearing a smile and little else. “Are you ready to eat…again?”
Oh well, that's life.
