Hello Forty!

If life begins at forty
then mine hasn't yet begun.
I'm waiting at the starting line,
preparing for some fun.

I've reached the age of thirty nine
remarkably unscathed,
negotiated obstacles
whilst being well behaved.

Now Naughty-Forty's looming
and I'm bothered not one bit!
Life's far too short to worry
and I've had my share of shit.

I won't be aging gracefully
'cos that sounds rather dull,
I'll live my life impulsively
and make each moment full.

"Well, hello Forty, how'd you do?
I'd like us to be friends.
Let's make some mischief, you and I
and take on all life sends."
