a short story
wedding day
by judester
Sandy slowly opened one eye and checked the clock. There was plenty of time, she assured herself as she snuggled under the duvet. Enjoying a simple breakfast and coffee, she sat by the window in the warmth of the early morning light. The sun caught and reflected the rock on her finger and she smiled with a bittersweet realization that this was the last morning that she would wake up alone.
On her way out the door, she picked up the phone and dialed the familiar number.
"See you at the church" she whispered and made her way out the door for the last time as a single girl.
