Makani, Makani ua, 'ena Makani-Hawaiian winds bring rainbows

Makani, Aloha 'oe

by healfromwithin

Makani, Aloha 'Oe

Spinning, whirling, howling...
Makani races down the Ko'olaus,
Palm trees sway, paka ua fall
In the wake of Makani ua.

Spinning, whipping, cutting...
'Ena Makani slices like a spear;
In bamboo forests, hidden deep,
The fearless wild-boars quake;

Spinning, flying, twirling, ...
Mailie leaves and hibiscus fly,
Snatched down the red-dirt path;
Carried on Makani's breath.

Spinning, dying, sighing...
Makani, e ku'uipo, Hawaii nei
Coaxes out the beautiful anuenue,
And whispers a fond, "Aloha 'Oe."
