tanka suite (cold wind, gray skies)

by dejohnsrld (Debbie)

tanka suite

cold wind, gray skies
snowflakes fall
like tears landing
on reddened cheeks
of children kept inside

cherry trees blossom
pink confetti floats in the breeze
like dreams
of children playing
in the treehouse

summer sun
wilts tender foliage
extra drink needed
as adults sit on porch
drinking sweet iced tea

autumn hues paint trail
squirrels scurry storing food
preparing for winter
 trading sleeveless shirts
for coat and boots

A personal note--some of you know what a time I have had with pain and doctor's who refuse to treat it. Today I saw a new doctor who prescribed some pain medicine---finally. I have only been on this quest for 11 months.

tanka--there are 4 here. Each is 5 lines and 31 syllables or less. (5-7-5-7-7 is not required)
