A chapter in the book Aiona's Poems

Scharazade

"Shall I tell a story first,
Before I'm put to death?"
"That sounds quite nice. Please do," he said.
"Then I will take my rest."

And so began her nightly tale
On which her life depends.
Adventure, mystery, romance,
Which never had an end.

To find out what would happen next,
The old king spared her life.
Thus with her tales he fell in love,
And made her his last wife.
