Limbo in mist

Fog

What I wouldn't give
to hate
or love
or live
beyond the shroud
of numbing empty rain

How I wish I'd try
to laugh
and shout
or cry
without the thought
of being someone's bane

If I thought you'd see
the mask
the man
or me
I'd have you speak
and ground me when I'm vain

What I'd give to fly
in hope
to quest
of why
I seem to find
such comfort in the pain
