A memory

Books Dusty Resting

by Walter L. Jones

Once there was just Tom & Huck
And old what's her name
White wash and true love
Now oil spills
& hungry crocs

River boat drifts
Old muddy
Twain four and counting

Shells fall in rows
Pod drops
Where to go

Palm and dance
Romance
A push

Gone we are
Just on the verge
She is heard

Depth in view
No where
Flies like her bird

Stop your swell
Hell burns bright
Trash of night

Corners bent
Queen come
Twenty one screams

Eyes test
Blue truth
Pools of blood

Hers the game
Earth rain
Just old flame

Paddle wheel still burns
Heart ache
Never do we learn
