Renewal

From tiny sprouts
to healthy blossoms
a relationship evolved
planted in rich fertile soil
we took a vow
to be involved.

We didn't crowd each other out
we shared the sun and rain
when storms
ripped through our garden
we stayed rooted-faced the pain.

Now when our sun is sinking
and our petals strip us bare
we can bury deep
our memories
until spring renews
our autumn prayer.
