Point of View

by lancellot

Why are you so fat?

“I’m not. I’m normal.”

You’re ugly; no one can stand to be around you. That’s why they can’t stop staring at you. They’re laughing at the fat girl.  You’re the pig that ate two chicken breasts last night.

“It was a small dinner. I have to eat. You know we have to. Why do you keep saying mean things? Do you want us to die?”

I want our pain to stop.  Don’t you? Just take a few pills and then we can sleep and never hurt again.

“No, I’m going to tell Kirk. I’m going to get help.”

He doesn’t care about you. Only I do.

“Is that why you make us starve, and want me to take more pills?”

I tell you the truth, while others lie.

“You’re just a sickness in my mind. You’re not real.”

I’m as real as your reflection is in this mirror.

“Then it’s time I changed my point of view.”
