a free verse poem about storm watching
Sea Musings
by RodG
I stare at the onrushing nor'easter
as waves thrash the sea wall. Grayish clouds hug the horizon squeezing whiteness from the sky. While air thickens like slow-stirred chowder, I am lost in the sigh of the wind, the briny breath of the sea. On this moonless night when stars and birds are missed, your face floods my thoughts and yearnings burst anew. |
