Where are the good times

The dusk settled at sunset And the old man looked around He could barely make out the shadows Of the figures he saw So much had changed Over the years So much regret So much despair Where had all the good times gone When laughter was the soul of life And people were the core of existence Did they hide in the shadows of darkness In a world worn thin As existence fades to obscurity And time makes irrelevant The thoughts of his tomorrow Or were they peaking In an ever unfolding of destiny To be rekindled As the dawn unfolds A new day Only time would tell And he prayed for sunlight |
