There is laughter
Belly deep
In this carefree world
And I wonder
Why that laughter is not mine

Why is my plight
The silence of a lost soul

The seclusion
Echoes me fondly
Betraying me
Calling me names
And shaming me
With irrelevance

Why is it so
That in such a place of healing
My laughter
Cannot be heard
