Self Acceptance

I do not know
Who they were
Black , brown, yellow or white
Like a flower
It matters not

They were people
Just like me
Made from God
Faulty
Like the Earth

Born of innocence
I cried
Fearful of the world
Not knowing the questions
Not knowing the answers
Not knowing the journey

I absorbed
All that abounded
I felt love
I felt respect
I felt emotion
And then

I became human
I questioned
I answered
I thought

But my thoughts were imperfect
My reasoning
Unfounded
And I learned
From the flesh of my father
To be imperfect
As God
Intended

Forgiveness
Is his realm
And I am his core
I accept
Who I am
I accept
What I was
I accept those
Who have made me
Me

I am human
I am me
