Hope

Born amidst the twinkling of stars
My Sun does not shine
Silhouettes of black
Shape my world
And the lights of happiness still allude me
Yet I do, at times
See sunlight streaking towards me
And the monsters in the clouds
Are not
As black
Or terrifying
As they used to be

Maybe
Perhaps
My mind will bend my visions
And I will see light through the clouds
And the dawns of tomorrow
Will bring a brighter day
With smiles
And happiness
And I will awaken
And be me
