A girl's first love
A Giddy Neophyte Speaks
by w.j.debi
Oh gallant knight on fiery steed,
You are my sun by day, My moon by night, My stars for decoration. Like the ancient paladin of lore, You swept in with the power To subdue all of your enemies, You plucked me up And carried me off. I had only one recourse For this action...sigh... Submission. You ride with the wind, Outlast the wild storm, Vanquish the fearsome evil, And overcome all odds In order to return Safely to my arms. Faults? You have none Except, perhaps, Being too much of everything I desire. Your arms are strong, Your wit is keen, Your playful caresses tender, That devilish twinkle in your eye So enticing-- Woe is me! Then once again You race off to save the world, With me riding behind you, My arms wrapped tightly Around you, Secure in the fact that You are mine. Ah, ecstasy lives! Dreams do come true! Now there are those Who will scoff at my description, Declaring that, Like your ancestor of old, You have been far too Idealized. But then again, Who's to say? They don't know you As I do. |
