There Are Moments
by Idamarty
There are moments when your memory
comes to me in waves of anguish, washing over me, drenching me with loneliness and loss There are moments when I swear I see you and I turn hopeful, desperate eyes, but then I know it can't be you, you went home, five years ago There are moments when I am filled with the deepest of regrets at not being there when you left this world, leaving me here, bereft There are moments when I would give anything to speak to you once more, to hear your laugh, to hold you close, to say, ``I love you mom.`` These moments come and go like the tides, bringing surges of heart wrenching emotion, then ebbing, as my tears are released, and I try to go on, missing you |
