A deadly reminder of a life of abuse
A chapter in the book And then there's Grace
Heavens Door
by Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens
Heavens Door
Hoodie up around her ears Hiding face and flowing tears Bruise on cheek from hand's hard blow Pain and burning in her side Injuries to deep to hide Searing soul that leaves no pride Self esteem is but a word Silent screams are never heard Then one day a blow to head Leaves this child lifeless, cold and dead CSI is on the way Too late to save Too late to pray Angel band is waiting near Will rise with her to Father dear Then in heaven she'll take her place No more bruises on her face The gentle spirits waiting there Will hold her gently Stroke her hair She'll never remember life before Once she enters Heaven's door. |
