For those without that special someone

Do not fear, there is no need to run

There are plenty of us around town

Who with others up, are feeling down

To those we know, make a commitment

Enjoy without loving sentiment

Batten down the hatches, hang on tight

This year let us vow to do things right

Some aren’t happy, don’t receive a ring

Being merry, happiness we’ll bring

We’ll join together this special day

While celebrating in a new way

So many of us loneliness knows

We can plant ourselves to see what grows

Replace candy and bouquets of roses

Miss the heartbreak when no one proposes

We’ll enjoy our day being happy

No need for tears or feeling sappy

Valentine’s traditions start anew
