Inspired

I told you I had to be inspired
No one believed me when I said
That poetry....Like A butterfly
Flits and floats
Within my head

It comes from kindness
Or a thought someone shared
It could be from a sunset
Or acknowledgement someone cared

It could be from a baby
Newborn, soft and sweet
Or a little kitten, a horse, a dog
Or rumbling thunder in retreat

It could be from you
As to me you are made known
It could be from other poetry
Or perhaps a book or song

But I really think God
Blessed me with this gift
Because all good things come from God
Now you get my drift

Don't fail to thank Him for all talents
Use them gratefully and well
For when we get to Heaven
Good works of us He'll tell

And He'll ask us many questions
Of us he will require
Answers to all poetry
Decent, loving, fun
But most of all
