I saw you

A chapter in the book A collection

I know you know

by Jean Hornby

In the church I saw you
You were in the distance
And looked unaware
I tried so hard to look away
But I could not help but stare

You appeared so perfect
I was mesmerised
I looked at your eyes
And felt that I would cry

As the service began
You remained alone
To you I was drawn
though you were still as stone

Now the service is over
I so don't want to go,
Because you I feel
I know that you know

I need to walk over to you
Regardless of who else is there
To me it does not matter
If they stop and stare

Soon we are standing together
And I tell you all my sins
You are a good listener
For you never butt in

I have been in your presence for hours
It is just you and me,
You help me find my soul
You take me where I need to be

Before I go I kneel to you
And thank you for all you do
I tell you I will always be there too,
And as I go I know you know

That Jesus I love you.
