Thanksgiving Tradition for some

All For a Bargain

by Connie C

Indigestion has taken its hold,
but there is no keeping you down.
The Thanksgiving feast is done.
Now you race off to town
where the midnight sales
make promises
of bargains
you can't
beat.

Nonet Poem Contest writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a nonet poem. It's a simple format. A nonet has nine lines. The first line has nine syllables, the second line eight syllables, the third line seven syllables, etc... until line nine that finishes with just one syllable. It can be on any subject and rhyming is optional.

I often wonder what would happen if we didn't have all these stores opening at midnight on Thanksgiving. Is it really necessary?
