This is one of a series based on the 'idea' of Spain - this one is in the form of a Lachesis of 18 lines with each verse comprising a triplet and couplet in (an attempted) iambic tetrameter. The rhyme scheme is aaa & bb - ccc & dd - eee & ff with a conclusion of ggg. It is a simple form and it is hard not to make it sing-songy.
