Baby-inspired poem!
A chapter in the book A Mother's Love
Roly-Poly Bug
by darkmoonbaby
Roly-poly, my own little Bug,
Tongue sticking out, tummy to rug, Something just tells me, I've got to watch close, Before - whoops! - There my little one goes, Rolling like a roly-poly, side over side - This mommy certainly beamed with pride. One of your firsts, for my eyes alone I reached down and quickly grabbed my phone. Opened the camera, and rushed to record I just knew that your Daddy would be floored! Nana had seen your new little act But she was sworn to secrecy - and that's a fact! Over and over, again and again, I have to admit how hard it was to contain My excitement and laughter, my joy -- Caused by your rolling over, sweet boy. Ah, who am I kidding, I didn't even try To contain any of my Mommy-Pride, I won't even lie. Keep doing what you're doing, Learning and moving, I'll keep on viewing Your newly developing, unique personality Oh how I love your growing originality! Mommy's little roly-poly, sweet baby Bug A word to the wise - Keep your tongue out of plugs! |
