Anger Confesses

by fayesh

Anger has consumed me, torturing my soul

Unrelenting it has taken strong hold

My spirit afire with more loss than gains

My dreams up in smoke, the ashen remains

A soft voice lost amid a raging blaze

The gentleness gone in the smoke and haze

Like melted candles with their burning wicks

An ashen soul left without a phoenix*

Once sweetness resided within my heart

But through trying years I watched it depart

Burning away fragile feelings I had

Until gentle thoughts transform into bad

I want to rise from the ashes in white

Back to a forgiving love taking flight
