Desert Poem

Moonlight and the Oasis

by Ricky1024

Egypt at night,a sand desert, the Sahara.
So bright, trillions of tiny crystals of sand.
Glistening, reflecting buring deep the "Secrets of Man."

******

Pyramids created so long ago with such desire
a magical treat for all to ponder and admire.
The three kings transversed the desert on camels
over time worn trails to visit Baby Jesus
with gifts of frankincense, gold and myrrh.
Cleo met her match with the asp,
King Tut was buried with a golden
staff in his grasp.

Precipitation!
In the cool, desert night, far out where no man has ever been
lies a small oasis bathing in the soothing, yellowed moonlight.
Precious are the clear, blue, waters resting below the night moon mist.
Countless palms so magnificent ,so tall!
******
A brief respite from earlier desert heat.
A tantilizing treat for the desert traveler
and God's little Gem sparkling forever again!
