A song to someone special who is lost right now
Personal Prison
by Katiesherrill
-Verse 1- There you are sitting all alone In an unfamiliar room. Bound by an overwhelming loneliness that Is threatening to consume. Don't remember how you got here You're holding on for dear life. Such a dark and lonely place Where the pain cuts like a knife. -Pre chorus- You long to feel God's love And the freedom that He brings. Knowing all the right answers Yet the truth, it just doesn't ring. Looking up into heaven you crawl on your knees. Surrendering your will to God and praying that He sees. -Chorus- Lift up your hands in worship To the King. With an honest heart cry out Let your praises ring. Only He can make these walls Tumble to the ground. Release you from your prison Lord, let your love abound. -Verse 2- You want to trust His promises To make you whole once more. You need to hear He still loves You You've been down this road before. You've read His grace is new each day And He won't close the door. But captive by your sin and shame You're praying He'll restore. -Pre Chorus- You long to feel God's love And the freedom that He brings. Knowing all the right answers Yet the truth, it just doesn't ring. Looking up into heaven you crawl on your knees. Surrendering your will to God and praying that He sees. -Chorus- Lift your hands in worship To the King. With an honest heart cry out Let your praises ring. Only He can make these walls Tumble to the ground. Release you from your prison Lord, let your love abound. |
