My aching soul weeps with regret.
Unerringly forward the day softly sets.

The world on its axis continues to turn
While sorrow closes my throat with its burn.

I have nothing to do but wait for the dawn,
Praying it brings a sweetly new song.

If I'd done things different I'd have no regrets,
But I'd have no daydreams to sweetly beset

My soul-weary travel down a path strew with hope
And topped with dew-drops that kaleidoscope

To a place of encouragement at the end of the day
Where I find my sweet Savior as I kneel down to pray.
