for our US troops half a world away

The One Who Waits At Home

that
fills my heart this morning

I keep myself warm
bundled deep
within
your sweaters
and
nourish my spirit
from
the pages
of
your letters

I sip my coffee
from
your rooster mug

You
are the dream
I will awaken from
when
I
feel your true kiss
upon my cheek

Come home
safe
to me
