a poem about the importance of love
Joy and Pain
by dragonpoet
The winter's dark and cold
Become spring's light and warmth. Loneliness becomes being alone. The snow changes to rain, Tears of joy, because The rocks are crumbling The island eroding The fortress walls are cracking. The drawbridge lowers and Allows love and laughter to Enter and medicate life's pain. Still, the rocks crumble and The island erodes. The loss of love makes You think; "never again" But the memory of the joy, Before the tears, Awakens you from nightmares Of loneliness. Again The rocks crumble and The island erodes. All your protections Fade away. The armor is removed As you realize that All has crumbled. All has eroded. That without pain Joy is not felt And if you never cry Laughter is meaningless dragonpoet |
