I possess

     More than I need
     Some of what I desire
     Less than what others think

I believe

     In the beauty of a sunset
     In the power of forgiveness
     In the balm of laughter

I cherish

     Time spent alone
     Time spent sharing
     Time spent creating

I desire

     To understand
     To fill an emptiness
     To be remembered

I lack

     Freedom from memories
          That gather like dust
               And will not drift away. . .

I forfeit

     Half-hearted apologies
     Veiled friendships
     Silent indifference

I have no answers for

     The why of loss
     The when of pain
     The how of regret
     The what if of perhaps

I dream of

     Countless Moments

          To reflect
          To embrace
          To discover

          To still surprise. . .
