Remembrance: A Day In May
by Allezw2
Honor these latest among our honored fallen
Steady they went so few in years
Regard now those who've gone before Honors rendered by these later peers In remembrance of those who've gone before At attention standing in the ranks They honor those who've gone before Gathered now in grateful thanks The annals of those who've gone before Recalling a time that still haunts Of circumstance and those who've gone before The order and disciplined response A salute to those who've gone before These newest warriors rise to the fore Standing in place of those who've gone before Quick sound the weapons of war Acknowledging those who've gone before Solace across the years as a bugle calls For those dear who've gone before The last notes fade and a silence falls Reflect now on those who've gone before Ceremonial orders voiced and they respond Here among those who've gone before They march away knowing the bond Shared with those who've gone before Quiet now where we in reverence stand Among the markers of those who've gone before *** Cunningham, Norman L.
