Me research done, 4 visits to Ireland, gallons of Guinness

St Patrick's Day True Happy Day

by Reese Turner

Truth be, I’m only thirty percent Irish,

The rest is spread around the earth.

Nor, was I born in Ireland, but still

I’ve been all Irish since me birth.

I’ve traveled the world but never

Found a place more just like me,

A place filled with happy music

Laughter, the place I want to be.

A place of golf and real good times,

Lovely ladies with genuine smiles,

Of green hills and scenic roads and

Ocean’s shore for miles and miles!

So, I dressed up in me Irish outfit

For a St. Patrick’s party downtown

Irish food and beer and music with

Friends – best party all around.

My days are short, so I'm prayin'

For Boxty 'n Guinness at the Gate!

Will Heaven be as great as Ireland?

Bet it’s about the same – can’t wait!

St. Patrick Day writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Poem of two or more stanzas, any style, or prose about St. Patrick Day ( one short paragraph)

Saints be praised to have me picture taken with a lovely lady. Truth is, that is the world's meanest woman who is me wife of 48 years. We had fun at our communty's St. Patricks' Day party just yesterday. Hope you all enjoy the special day.
