Imaginary Conversations

by Barry Penfold

"Is that you Vladimir?"
A response was not forthcoming.
" Are you there?"
"Yes, I am here". The voice was low, almost a gargle.
"Do not ring me here, Donald. It is not a secure line."
" But I was so excited thinking about how I could help you. How did you like the security blackout?"
" Good one. I can now step up the missile attacks. Keep them thinking I want to seek a peace settlement."
" Not a problem with that. I am so thrilled how much we can earn from such a deal. What about you?"
" Excited is not the word. I just want to secure the territory. Wipe them off the map. You are good at changing maps, Donald."
"Ha, Ha, Vladimir. I have plenty of Executive Orders left on my desk to distract them."
" We need to write the history. Then we will own it."
" So wise, so wise."
