A gathering of friends at twilight

Twilight's Gentle Hush

by Alex Biasin

Use These Words Contest Winner
Beneath the twilight's gentle hush
we gathered close,a fellowship's warm blush,
where whispers danced like firelight's thread
shadows stirred with tales of dread.

The hearth's soft glow could not disguise
the frown that lingered in your eyes,
a storm unspoken, veiled in gray,
as love stood guard, though doubt might sway.

Through hollow woods, our footsteps wove,
where thorns of fear filled the grove.
Hands entwined, we faced the night,
and kindled stars to forge our light.

Not ghostly wind nor mournful cry
could break the bond we held so high.
For in our hearts, both fierce and kind,
our fellowship, is the shield we designed.

Now dawn ascends, the shadows shed
light dawning, curtails our dread.
Where frowns once ruled, smiles reside,
love remains our steadfast guide.
