A Spectral Mist
Pale-blue moonlight caressed ancient headstones as Eliza's pale fingers traced weathered epitaphs. Mist coiled around her ankles like spectral chains. A whisperâ"her name perhapsâ"drifted between the marble angels. When she turned, a gentleman in black stood watching. His face was hauntingly familiar, although she had attended his funeral only yesterday.
