A poem about decisions in love

Am I to be Ophelia

by EeanBlack

Am I to be Ophelia?  Condemned to life so chaste.
Or am I she, dear Juliet, to give myself in haste?
Of madness or from circumstance, the throngs of love I'll taste
Submit to it this warm respite this life that you've embraced

The two souls, Ophelia and Juliet had tragically different experiences in their young lives. Yet so similar. We all know Romeo and Juliet. Most of us know the tragic life and death of Ophelia in Hamlet. Here's where I ask a favor of you. Help me understand what I'm trying to convey. I think I failed there.
