He woke up next to a girl.
Basement Mystery

Shafts of sunlight filtered through a basement window. Jason blinked awake; he lay on a bare mattress smelling of vomit. Beside him lay a girl with grisly blonde hair. Confusion reigned in his muddled mind. How did they get here? The smell of drunkenness hung in the air. He touched her. Her shoulder was cold. He thought: Who is she? How did we get here?
He tiptoed up the stairs, promising himself he’d find the answer. The mystery of her lingered until the next morning when headlines screamed, “Coed Found Dead in the Basement of the Delta Omega Fraternity House.”
