Oops! Sailor Errs

by Tom Horonzy

A sailor wet the fo'c's'le, also doused his pants
when he erroneously took a chance
urinating first into the wind
leaving him quite chagrin
'til he veered arear
and changed his stance.

It's hard to imagine this could happen
to a grizzly bosun' guzzlin' a flagon
but to an AG..? I cannot contemplate
for they are taught how to extrapolate
the direction from which the wind is blowing
calculating where their pee be flowing.

The lad must've been an airman apprentice!

A poem about a Man contest entry

fo'c's'le, - also poopdeck or forecastle - the forward part of the weather deck of a vessel
bosun or boatswain -a petty officer on a vessel, in charge of rigging, anchors, cables, etc.
flagon - a sipping vessel bosun's use for holding rum
AG - Aerographer Mate - a weather guesser - a student of air and atmosphere.
Airman apprentice - a rookie squid or sailor
