A poem

Every morning's New Year's day

by royowen

Every day is New Year's Day.

When I was young I let time drift.
and never thought life was a gift.
Each hour was like the mists that lift.
But now I know from me time's slipped.

And then I saw that each new day,
has mercies borne by morning's ray.
As sunlight comes to mark love's way,
it's on Christ's cross my sin would pay.

For every year's a long, long time,
to bury past's great sin-filled crime.
But I don't want to face fate's prime,
allowing sorrow's judgement mime.

So if you think past's wraith may bring,
those New year's ghosts with treasured bling.
For I know this, sin's bell won't ring
as future's hope in pitch will sing.

But yet what comes with new day's sun
will then reveal what Christ has done.
For Jesus died and through God's Son,
my sin flees west, as grace doth run.
