Krampus

frightened naughty child hid under his bed ♦ peeking out his safe place anticipating a frightful fate ♦ the kid expected its touch of cold big hands pulling into the dark
♦ the first thing he saw, was Krampus’ yellow eyes sharp teeth and claws ♦ then the scared little guy smelled sulfur stench and rancid goat crap ♦ as if something crawled into its mouth and died a horrible death ♦ Krampus got closer till it grabbed the child's arms ♦ the sound of its hooves was a creepy clip-clop to the beat of the kid's heart ♦ Big K grabbed him tightly and the last thing the scared child saw ♦ were piercing dead eyes, a wide mouth, and a coarse tongue ♦ he screamed all the way to hell hearing Krampus say
~ no gifts for naughty kids ~ I'm not Santa Claus

Thanks to Marilyn Hamilton, for leading the Little Shop of Horror Club. Rules: "You choose the poem style. The topic is Krampus. We all know about Santa but what about his evil version? Please write us a poem about Krampus and his Christmas Eve activities." to check out the Little Shop of Horrors Club, click here
Krampus and St. Nicholas are part of Austrian folklore legend. Every year on December 6th, St. Nicholas rewards good children with presents and treats. But if the children have been naughty, they face Krampus, an evil half-man half-goat who comes around every year on December 5th to drag the bad children to hell. Some parents used to dress up as Krampus to frighten their children at their homes if they didn't behave. Nowadays, the legend of Santa Claus is a happy one. All children receive gifts and treats.
