First promoted them

In the 2nd Century AD Roman Empire.

Who were guilty of these sins

None more than the Emperors Caligula

And Nero.

Lately the seven deadly sins

Have come back

As many of our political leaders

Seem to be poster children

For the deadly sins.

None more that Donald Trump

Who daily violates the seven deadly sins

Often with inpunity.

He is consumed with retribution

Revenge and enemies

All part of his pride, his greed

His envy and his wrath.

With three wifes

And numerous affairs

He has also been guilty

Of the sin of lust.

And his love of the big Mac

And his famous disdain

For exercise

Reveals his foundness

Of the sin of glottony

And sloth.

Yet despite his daily violations

Of the deadly sins

His supporters give him a pass

Somehow thinking that he

Is a Christian.
